In classes, I have commonly used Kahoots! when edutainment is needed for a good start up or reward at the end of a class. ELL classes seem to especially enjoy a good Kahoot!
I have been curious about other apps that teachers can use in the classroom and in this course we were introduced to Edpuzzle. It took me a hot minute and a few times through the instructions to create my own Edpuzzle that wasn't terribly clunky but I think I've got it now and can see how this can create more engagement with students when they are being asked to watch a video. This keeps students engaged rather than offering them an opportunity to zone out. I will surely be using this tool, especially when introducing students to new artists.
Of course as an educator and forever student, I am now curious about what other apps are out there that teachers can use as a supplement in the classroom so I went on a search. This is what I found so far and I think this is a good way to begin experimenting with new apps.
On the website: Education Corner (Education That Matters), I found this useful article: 35 of the BEST Educational Apps for Teachers (Updated 2024)
'For easy reference, they have organized the reviews into the following sections:'
Instead of blabbering on about it, I will include their general suggestions here:
